Titanium Aura Quartz is natural quartz that is been put through a process to give it that beautiful, dark rainbow of colors. Natural quartz specimens are placed inside of a heated air chamber (~900 °C) along with vaporized metals, in this case, titanium. This vaporized metal then binds to the surface of the quartz specimen. This laboratory process is known as magnetron ionization or magnetron coating. This is often done with many different elements such as gold, indium, titanium, niobium, and copper, all of which produce different colors.
