People love kyanite. We are obsessed with its ability to form these perfect "sprays." The crystal structure is often thin enough that you can see right through gemmy sections. Specimens like these are a perfect way to add variety to your collection. This one is little "chunky"!

Blue Kyanite was first discovered in 1789. It gets its name from the Greek word "kuanos", meaning blue. It is most commonly found in metamorphic rocks that grow under high-pressure environments. It typically forms in bladed sprays of blue in association with garnet, staurolite, and corundum minerals such as ruby.
