Brecciated Jasper is a variety of quartz composed of broken fragments that have been cemented together over time, hence the name brecciated. The word jasper is derived from the Greek word "iaspi", meaning spotting stone. Jasper is classified as uartz that contains up to 20% inclusions or foreign materials. This form of jasper often contains hematite, an iron-based mineral, giving this jasper its red color. Occasionally, this mineral will contain full quartz crystals.
Brecciated Jasper is known as the stone of strength and vitality. It brings focus and mental clarity when dealing with emotions and difficult situations.
