Citrine is a variety of quartz. It gets its name from the Latin word "citron". The color of citrine is not fully understood. Some citrine is colored from aluminum-based centers and irradiation. This is similar to smoky quartz. More common, commercial-grade citrine is often amethyst that has been heated to extreme temperatures, essentially baking it to the proper color. This is citrine by scientific standards.
Citrine is known as the light maker. It boosts joy, optimism, and success on all levels, especially business-related goals. It also acts as a protective spiritual cleanser.
