Vanadite specimens are very popular. Vanadinite is a mineral that is composed of vanadium, lead, oxygen, and chlorine. Vanadinite typically forms in arid climates alongside other lead-based minerals. Vanadinite can form in brown, yellow, orange, or red crystals. Vanadinite is easily identifiable from its hexagonal crystals. Some of the most prized specimens are bright cherry red with lustrous crystals. This mineral is often found in Argentina, Australia, Morocco, Namibia, and even the United States.

This specimen showcases gorgeous microscopic (druzy) crystals which have formed on top of blades of barite (white) which are coated in hematite (black).
