The concept of The Evil Eye dates as far back as the 6th century B.C. It is a supernatural belief dealing with curses brought about by a stare or glare towards its target, bringing misfortune. It is commonly found in Mediterranean cultures. However, there are many people who believe The Evil Eye actually protects the wearer from curses and ill intent by reflecting it back towards the initiator. The first occurrences of this symbol were made of clay or ceramic but glass took over 3500 years ago. Blue was the most commonly used color for its easy creation.

Fun Fact: Roughly 40% of the world's population has some form of belief in relation to The Evil Eye!
