“Ice” selenite is a variety of gypsum that is often sought after for its high clarity and sheen.
Selenite is a crystallized variation of gypsum. It is a hydrous calcium sulfate that is found in many places on earth. Mexico is considered one of the largest exporters of selenite. It is used in fertilizer, drywall, and sidewalk chalk. Some of the largest crystals ever found were composed of selenite, reaching almost 40 feet and weighing over 110,000 pounds. This version of selenite is actually known as satin spar. Other variations include desert roses and gypsum flowers.
Selenite is also used for neutralizing negativity in spaces and people. If there was ever a stone to keep in your home or on your person it's selenite. This soft, white stone is used for promoting peace, clarity, and wellbeing.
