Pink Opal does not show any play of color as seen in traditional opals but they do contain lovely patterns of white running throughout them. This stone contains palygorskite and chalcedony. Palygorskite is a phyllosilicate that resembles opal, while chalcedony is a microcrystalline quartz mineral. Peru is one of the world's largest producers of pink opal.
