Scolecite is a silicate mineral that belongs to the zeolite family. It is compromised primarily of calcium as seen in it chemical formula, but can contain trace amounts of sodium and/or potassium. It is extremely recognizable by its "needle-like" crystal structure which forms in beautiful sprays.
