Serpentine is not one single mineral but a group of minerals. Each is dependent on the structure of its chemical formula. It can contain magnesium, nickel, aluminum, zinc, silicon, or manganese. Minerals referred to as serpentine include chrysotile, antigorite, and lizardite. These can be found at any converging tectonic plate boundary. This is where an oceanic plate is being forced down into the mantle of the Earth. It was named serpentine after its green color, pattering, and slick feel similar to a snake.

Serpentine assists in meditation. It enhances spiritual exploration and wisdom through past lives.
