This mineral is most commonly found colorless or with slightly warm hues, such as yellows and oranges. Ancient writings of topaz are often confused with the other yellow mineral chrysoberyl. It can be found all over the world including Brazil, Mexico, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Japan, and the United States. Some specimens have been found weighing hundreds of pounds. Blue topaz has gained popularity over the years. This is topaz that has been exposed to radiation to color the crystal blue.
