Vanadite specimens are very popular. Vanadinite is a mineral that is composed of vanadium, lead, oxygen, and chlorine. Vanadinite typically forms in arid climates alongside other lead-based minerals. Vanadinite can form in brown, yellow, orange, or red crystals. Vanadinite is easily identifiable from its hexagonal crystals. Some of the most prized specimens are bright cherry-red with lustrous crystals. Its crystals may contain up to 75% lead! This mineral is often found in Argentina, Australia, Morocco, Namibia, and even the United States.
