Green Aventurine is a variety of translucent quartz that contains inclusions. Light entering the mineral reflects off these inclusions. This is known as "aventurescence" and is present in other minerals. Aventurine is derived from the Italian word "venture" meaning chance. Green aventurine contains chromium-rich mica known as fuchsite. Other colors of aventurine can be caused by inclusions of lepidolite, hematite, muscovite, and ilmenite.
Green Aventurine is the stone of opportunity and success. It is often referred to as the luckiest of all minerals, igniting times of abundance, prosperity, and wealth.
